In this unit I learned that Bill 101 was created to preserve the linguistic identity of Canadian Francophones.
I really found it interesting that French Canadians are at risk of assimalation.
I can connect what I learned with Science because the Metis where half French half English, in Science you can have chemical compounds that are half one chemical and half another.
What suprised me this unit was that countrys all over the world listen to Amarican musice and watch their television shows.
One concept I am still having difficulty with is the idea of Bill 101 and how it preserves their linguistic identint if its only in Quebec.
One question I still have is how did the Metis attain ther own cultural identity?
One learning stratergy I found helpfull was the word wheel. If i where to teach someone how to use this I would first tell them to make nine circles on their page, then ask them how they relate to each other, finnaly I would tell them to wright the words in the bubbles and how they relate to each other between them.
Part B: Economic Globalization

Outsourcing is where one company gets another company to do its jobs for them. For example the picture above shows someone calling tech support and differnt locations are answering. Anothe rexample of out sourcing is Apple and there tech support in India. Companys do this so they get cheep labour and lotsa of workers, but there are disadvantages too, such as low wages and hazardous working conditions.
Part C: Globalization and Identity
This source shows that Bill 101 was a negitive thing. The source reads "not government's role to create an identity" and that "don't need Bill 101 to protect the French language." This shows that the speaker does not think that Bill 101 was a possitive thing.
The source says that Bill 101 was a negitive thing, I stronly disagree with the source. Bill 101 was a positive thing that is indeed preventing assimalation of the French Canadians. If Bill 101 was not created Quebec would become a English speaking province and Canada would lose their Bilingualism. The French Would also lose their linguistic and part of their cultural identitys.
If the government didnt get invloved Canada would be a English speaking Country and Anglophones would be superior to Francophones. The French would be marginalized like the Metis where before they became their own culture. French are already the minority group in Canada so they are already at risk of Assimalation.
Good job, Dylan!!
